The music and soundtrack of Yaadon Ki Baaraat were composed by RD Burman, with lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri. The opening lines of the hit song, “Chura Liya Hai Tumne” were inspired (without credits, of course) by the English song, “If It’s Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium” by Bojoura from the soundtrack of a 1969 film.
Trivia: Even the background music style of the original song was separately used in many Urduwood songs.
