Our business model
We do not put content behind a paywall. Instead, we ask you to pay only after you are satisfied with the content and the research effort behind it. Our unique model is a humble attempt to bring alternate, unique content for which there is no ready market — we depend on business revenue from your voluntary subscriptions to keep going. If the work is valuable to you, please consider a voluntary subscription.
Please note — we are not seeking donations. Gems of Bollywood is a registered business entity. All voluntary subscriptions made to us or to any of our affiliates whose payment options we may provide are treated as business revenues and are subject to Indian taxes. We cannot issue any donation-related tax exemption (including 80G) because we are not soliciting donations. Global payments made through the online payment gateway go to our affiliate, which treats the income per the laws of the country under which it operates — also as business income, not donation. Voluntary subscriptions and payments made through this site (or via our affiliates) are treated as business revenue and are subject to Indian taxes. No tax exemption (including 80G) is available on payments to us — we do not solicit donations.
- Where do international payments go?
- Global online-payment-gateway subscriptions are collected by our affiliate, which treats the income as business revenue per the laws of its jurisdiction — also not a donation.
- How do I request a correction or takedown?
