Shared by @UdayMahurkar — It is unfortunate that after agreeing to Partition of our Motherland & giving Pakistan to Indian Muslims on their demand in 1947, Bharat still doesn’t have a law giving death penalty to cow slaughterers. Cow as an animal of Qurbani was enforced by Muslim invaders during medieval period to insult Hindus because there is no mention of cow sacrifice for Qurbani during Eid in Quran. Thousands of Hindus sacrificed their lives in the past 800 years in protecting the cow from the sword of Muslim fanatics. The Samadhis of such Hindu heroes many of whom also came from non-Kshatriya classes can be found across India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari & from Kutch to Bengal. In Gujarat, Rajasthan & Maharashtra there are innumerable medieval stories of how Hindus particularly Rajputs & Maratha Kshatriyas died fighting Muslim cow slaughterers. As a journalist with @IndiaToday i wrote articles in the magazine on a couple of such heroes several years ago. One of the greatest such heroes is Bhatiji Maharaj , said to be a Rathore Rajput, who is worshipped by lakhs of people in Gujarat, Rajasthan & Maharashtra for sacrificing his life to protect cows from Muslim iconoclasts in the 16th century. He is believed to have been born in 1544 AD. He is said to have left his own marriage ceremony to wage a battle to save cows from being forcibly lifted by cow smugglers/ killers. He was able save the cows but died in the battle. Thousands of temples are dedicated to him where people pray to him to save themselves from snake & scorpion bites. Incidentally, a small number of moderate Muslims also worship him. Interestingly, one of the things which played a key role in shaping Shivaji Maharaj’s strong Hindutva thoughts was his hatred for those indulging in cow killing. He is said to have awarded death penalty to cow killers. The Muslim fellow in the video below, who is taking pride in eating cow meat , justifies the actions of Gau Rakshaks on cow smugglers & killers. Cow killing has seen a rise in the country after the rise of radical Wahabism due to the spread of Deoband- Tabligh Jamaat & Ahle Hadis radical ideologies with the blessings of Congress. When Tabligh Jamaat, the missionary wing of Deoband School, started the movement to radicalise Hindu-like converted Muslims in 1926 in Mewat area it started preaching them that they should eat cow meat & marry their Kaka’s daughters as true Muslims which these Hindu-like Muslims were shunning till then since they still carried residues of Hinduism despite converting to Islam. This technique of radicalisation was evolved by Tabligh Jamaat to counter the reconversion movement of Arya Samaj as it thought that once this moderate Muslims start eating beef & marrying their real Kaka’s daughters no Hindu will ever accept them back in Hindu fold. Significantly, Maulana Mohammed Iliyas Kandhalvi & his son Maulana Yousuf were close friends of India’s first Education Minister & the so-called nationalist Muslim, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.
