GEMS OF BOLLYWOOD – IMPACT REPORT
Date: 9 Sep 2025
Theme: OTT Obscenity Exposed & Banned (2021–2025)

➡️ First Fire Sparked on Social Media

– Starting from 2021, @GemsofBollywood began exposing pornographic scenes on OTT shows including ALTBalaji’s XXX Season 2 that showed explicit incest – man with bhabhi, mother, grandmother.

The posts went viral, creating unprecedented public outrage.

➡️ Official Complaints Filed, Scene Removed

– @SanjeevSanskrit filed official complaints under the three-tier OTT grievance system against AltBalaji’s XXX Season 2 content in 2022.

-ALTBalaji responded – “It’s just a dream sequence”

-After two months of relentless follow-up, the Grievance Redressal Board finally ruled in favour of Sanjeev Newar, and the offending scene was removed.

The process proved that redressal mechanisms were slow and inadequate.

➡️ Raising the Alarm in Delhi, White Paper Released

– Gems of Bollywood co-hosted a press conference with @scsb_f at Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library in 2023
demanding legal reform to curb pornographic content on OTT

– White paper released on OTT obscenity titled OTT Objectionable Content Research Report

– Screened objectionable scenes to alarm the media.

Even seasoned journalists demanded the video be stopped due to graphic content, proving our point.

➡️ Raising the Alarm in Mumbai, Big Event Held

– @scsb_f and @GemsOfBollywood, in partnership with @HinduJagrutiOrg, held a major event in Mumbai in February 2024 calling for strong legal reform. Exposed how OTT vulgarity was linked to real-world sex crimes, porn addiction, and cultural erosion.

➡️ Child Commission Petitioned, Promptly Acted

-In July 2024, Sanjeev Newar filed a formal complaint with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) against ALTBalaji’s series Raseeli Ratein, highlighting its content showing minors indulging in sexual acts.

-Acting on the complaint, then NCPCR Chairperson @KanoongoPriyank promptly issued a notice to the OTT platform and directed the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) to initiate appropriate action

This marked a critical institutional acknowledgement of the campaign against OTT obscenity.

➡️ Supreme Court Moved

– In April 2025, Gems of Bollywood’s @swati_gs and @SanjeevSanskrit, along with @UdayMahurkar, filed a PIL in Supreme Court demanding a ban on several OTT platforms for pornographic content

– Filed by Hari Shankar Jain and @Vishnu_Jain1, the court admitted the matter and issued notices to the Government and platforms.

➡️ Decisive Blow Delivered; Govt Banned 25 OTTs

– Indian govt blocked 25 OTT platforms including ULLU and. ALTT
– 26 related websites removed
– 14 mobile apps delisted from app stores
