It was my privilege to deliver a talk on PM @narendramodi ‘s model of governance to the Chattisgarh Cabinet led by CM @vishnudsai at @iimraipur as part of the Ministry’s Chintan Shibir. While talking about the major schemes that delivered under his leadership as Gujarat CM & then as PM, I underlined 5 major features of Modi model : Transparency, use of technology , poverty-alleviation, innovation, appeal to common citizen’s pride, & advance planning, which is the key to success & glory & which was the main reason behind Chattrapati Shivaji’s unbelievable successes in war as well as administration.

I explained with striking examples as to how PM is the ‘Janak’ of several governance revolutions in the history of independent India including 24×7 domestic power supply, solar energy revolution, Direct-Benefit-Transfer, the digital revolution, razor-sharp foreign diplomacy, defence transformation, end of transfer-posting industry in the Central Govt , & above all, the politics of development one sees across the country.

I said the most unique feature of his vision was bringing out the latent energy present in every citizen & enjoining it with the nation’s developmental journey by an appeal to the citizen’s pride. The talk was followed by a question-answer session with the ministers.

The topic of the talk was ‘ Good Governance to Elections’ & i underlined that there was a direct connection between governance & poll outcomes , pointing out that Shri Modi’s victories in the 2007 & 2012 Vidhan Sabha elections in Gujarat & the 2019 Lok Sabha election & his return to power as PM for the 3rd time in 2024 were due to good governance , more than other factors.
