An IIT professor is spreading fake propaganda against EVMs, unable to digest election results.

Tomorrow, these lies could sabotage India’s democracy and become gospel truths globally—solely because IIT represents India’s intellectual brand.

If the professor truly believes in his claims, why not challenge the Supreme Court and prove them?

Is this what IITs are funded for?

@EduMinOfIndia @IITKanpur must intervene.

I have filed formal complaint with @agrawalmanindra (Director, @IITKanpur) & @dpradhanbjp (@EduMinOfIndia) against Dr. Harish Karnick for spreading false & anti-democratic propaganda against EVMs. Despite EVM integrity being upheld by SC & IIT Kanpur’s role in its development, Dr. Karnick misuses his IIT association to discredit this technology.

This warrants:

1. Immediate action against Dr. Karnick.
2. Investigation into possible influence from divisive forces.

We cannot allow trust in our democratic processes to be sabotaged.

I am writing to bring to your immediate attention the intentional dissemination of false and unsubstantiated information about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) by Dr. Harish Karnick, a retired Professor of Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kanpur.

Despite his retirement, it appears that Dr. Karnick maintains an official association with IIT Kanpur as his name still appears on the institution’s official website. This aggravates the seriousness of this issue.

The said video was also posted on X by a Maharashtra politician and the original link of the same is shared below:

The integrity of the EVM process has been thoroughly scrutinized and upheld by the Honorable Supreme Court, which adjudicated it as a fair and clean electoral process.

Furthermore, IIT Kanpur itself played a significant role in developing the initial prototypes of EVMs, which adds to the gravity of using its platform to discredit the very technology it contributed to creating.

This deliberate act of maligning EVMs raises serious concerns about potential malicious intent and possible influence from anti-national forces.

Therefore, it warrants a deeper investigation by competent authorities into the underlying motivations and any external entities involved.

Additionally, I urge IIT Kanpur to clarify its position, disassociate itself from Dr. Karnick’s actions, and take appropriate measures to safeguard its reputation from such activities.

In light of the above, I respectfully request the following actions:

1. Immediate and stringent action against Dr. Harish Karnick for his malicious attempts to undermine public trust in the EVM process.

2. A detailed investigation to uncover any potential involvement of anti-national forces or vested interests behind this activity.

Such acts, if unchecked, pose a serious threat to the credibility of our democratic processes and national security. I trust that you will take the necessary steps to address this matter with the urgency it deserves.
