This interfaith couple from Haryana (Sakina and Vikas, names slightly changed) is currently on the run. They are facing death threats from Sakina’s father and brothers

I know them as we recently assisted them financially so they could be in a secure place

Daughter of a maulvi, Sakina told me her father was initially fine with a Hindu son-in-law, as he was convinced he would convert him to Islam. Was even looking forward to do ‘sabab ka kaam’

But when he learnt the boy is from Jaatav caste (Dalit), he was furious and made it clear he would not allow the marriage. Sakina is from Lohar caste

Sakina, 23, then eloped and married Vikas. Unlike her family, she is not inclined towards converting Vikas at all and in fact happily married him with pheras around Agni with Vedic mantras a couple of months ago. Wish the couple safety and a happy life
