How to use visual imagery in films to subtly push your agenda?

In the Tamil film ‘Hit List’, a comrade doctor who’s trying to save a pregnant woman requests oxygen from fellow patients in Covid period where supply is scarce.

The one who selfishly denies help to a pregnant woman struggling to breathe could have just been anyone.
But no.

We will make sure this random selfish character is dressed in saffron, having a japa mala, smeared in vibhuti, kungumam, having a Ganesha idol next to his hospital bed to show that religion makes one forget humanity.

And according to Tamil cinema, it is always, one religion’s practitioners only that forget humanity. Always.
