In pk, Aamir Khan chases the “fearless Shiva”, that is, a man dressed as Shiva. In the chase, Khan disrobes a sadhu, flings a Trishul and spits paan in front of a Hindu devotee in prayer. All this while a wide shot of a mosque towers over the “fake and scared” Shiva.
Enraged? Wonder how such a scene, and indeed such a film, got away with so much mockery of Hindus and Hindu deities?
Well, if you set it to a comic background score, you can indeed get away with it. Not just get away, but have your film added to the National Film Archives. Ask Aamir Khan.
