When Padma Awardees Javed Akhtar And Amitabh Bachchan Created Double-Meaning Anthem For Perverts

Film: Jaadugar

Year of Release: 1989

Director: Prakash Mehra

Lyrics: Javed Akhtar

Singer: Amitabh Bachchan

Lead Cast: Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Prada

Amitabh Bachchan was the highest-paid Bollywood actor in 1989. Yet he chose to pick scripts like Jaadugar, which had double-meaning songs that were apt for a B-grade film. Check out this song below that means, “Neighbour, take care of your ‘hen’ now that my ‘cock’ is excited” (padoson apni murgi sambhal mera murga hua hai deewana).

Of course, the ‘hen’ and ‘cock’ references are for Jaya Prada and Amitabh Bachchan’s private parts and song is about him desiring to have sex with her even if she is not consenting.

Javed Akhtar penned this gem. The lyrics of this song are so cringeworthy that we can’t imagine how the women in the audience must have felt while watching it in the theatres then. Thankfully, the movie flopped at the box office.

Akhtar and Bachchan are both awardees of civilians honours Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan.
