Anil Kapoor says in a press event for ‘Shootout at Wadala’ that he doesn’t care whether a shootout occurred there or if the underworld was taken down for the first time in an encounter by the brave cops in Mumbai Police. All he cares about is his performance.
He later goes on to say that he met with both policemen and gangsters for ‘research’, and some gangsters -perhaps his friends- were upset he was meeting with rivals. He quickly backtracks and says he has nothing to do with any ‘gang’.
At least he admits that actors are ‘bhaand’ and nothing more than entertainers.
"I don't care if bomb blasts happen or people die. I just care for my filmy career. For that I have met gangsters. All for acting. Because I am Bhaand."

Interestingly, Dawood Ibrahim’s name was mentioned in the film’s first promo. It was omitted in a subsequent fresh promo.
