“No More A Family Show” Eknath Shinde Shiv Sena seeks to ban reality TV show BIG BOSS. 👏

A brilliant step, such reality shows are extremely detrimental to society. They normalize toxic behaviors, manipulation, aggression, and deceit, and impressionable viewers start to imitate what they see on these shows.

You will say BAN is wrong, let it be viewers choice but understand this..

• It promotes drama, conflict, and sensationalism for entertainment purposes which is just wrong. Producers earn money while society including kids get negatively influenced.

• They cleverly distort viewer’s understanding of reality, as we all know these shows are edited and always scripted versions of real events. This creates unrealistic expectations and standards, particularly in youngsters with relationships, careers, and personal success.

Because they usually focus on specific groups or individuals, they perpetuate stereotypes and biases which usually lead to a narrow and skewed representation of society, reinforcing societal prejudices and misconceptions.

Furthermore, the competitive nature of many reality shows encourage a culture of comparison and materialism, as contestants often compete for fame, money, or other prizes. A sense of entitlement and dissatisfaction can develop among viewers, who may feel like their own lives or achievements aren’t good enough.

Did you know the rise of reality television has been linked to a decline in the quality and diversity of Television shows?

Yes, since reality shows are cheaper and easier to produce than scripted shows, they crowd out more thoughtful and creative content.

Remember how 90s TV shows were so much better than whats being produced TODAY?
