Shared by @GemsOfBollywood — UNICEF = Urban Naxals to Institutionalize Corruption and Exploit Funds?
The United Nations established @UNICEF with the mandate to work exclusively for the protection and welfare of children’s rights.
However, @UNICEFIndia has systematically deviated from this mandate. To keep its chaotic NGO network alive, it engages in activities that have nothing to do with child welfare.
As per Indian law and UN’s own definition, a child is a person below 18 years of age. Despite this, @UNICEFIndia has entered into an MoU with the Ministry of Rural Development (@MoRD_GoI) to spend funds—originally collected in the name of orphans and destitute children—on adult youth and women’s development programs.
This is a clear case of economic misconduct and mandate violation, because:
Development of youth and women falls under separate ministries of the Government of India.
The United Nations itself has dedicated agencies for these categories, such as UN Women, UNDP, and others.
Redirecting money collected in the name of helpless children to fund unrelated sectors amounts to financial fraud and ethical breach.
Furthermore, Indian taxpayers’ money will now be used to finance five-star hotel conferences and NGO networking events, under the guise of child welfare, while the actual beneficiaries remain questionable.
The UN system today suffers from complete financial indiscipline.
Member nations must demand clarity and accountability regarding UNICEF’s actual mandate, fund utilization, and governance structure.
This is no longer a question of charity — it is a question of institutional integrity and financial propriety.
