PASTOR YOSEPH GILL ARRESTED FOR CLAIMING HE CURED AIDS BY PRAYERS

WHAT HAPPENED

A pastor from Punjab organised a “Christian Celebration” event in Pune on 9 Dec 2025.

The promotional poster said his “prayers” cured a woman of AIDS.

Pune resident Siddharth Shahuraj Chavan filed a police complaint that Yoseph Gill was spreading dangerous superstitions among poor and Dalit communities to convert them.

Chavan is president of an organisation named Andhshraddha Mukti Mission.

Yerwada Police filed an FIR (accessed by @rashtrajyoti) against Yoseph Gill and his accomplice under Section 3(2) of Maharashtra Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act.

Their govt identity cards revealed their names as Jagtarsingh Dharamsingh Yoseph and Ramesh Sampat.

WHY THIS MATTERS

For years, pastors like Yoseph Gill have operated with impunity:

– Claiming to cure AIDS, cancer, infertility, disability through prayers to Jesus.

– Targeting Dalits and the poorest Hindus.

– Inciting hate against ancestral traditions and Hindu beliefs.

– Running a full-fledged conversion industry under the guise of “healing”

SUCH FRAUDULENT MIRACLE CLAIMS ALMOST NEVER FACE CONSEQUENCES. THIS TIME, THE LAW CAUGHT UP
