There is a conscious attempt by the self-appointed intellectuals of the film industry to “de-Hinduise” the story of India. Under the pretext of making films on sensitive subjects such as Partition, they peddle a vicious narrative that is misleading and demonises Hindu beliefs.

Kamal Hassan is a serial offender in peddling this agenda. Long before he stated false history about Tamil Nadu (“There was no Hindu religion during the time of Chola king”), he made a film on Partition and the assassination of M.K Gandhi in a film called ‘Hey Ram’.

In the film, he portrays practising Hindus as violent barbarians BUT a Pathan (Shah Rukh Khan) as the messiah of peace and forgiveness.

Take a look at this gem from the film. History would beg to differ on how Pathans treated Hindus during the partition, but Kamal Hassan isn’t particularly known for making well-informed opinions. We recommend this Gems of Bollywood article on how the Urduwood brigade has been portraying the Pathan community deceptively.
